Getting there

Buses run from Amsterdam Central Station to Volendam in about 30 minutes. Marken can be reached by bus or, in season, by the ferry from Volendam.

Best time to visit

Spring to early autumn, when the ferry runs. Weekdays are calmest; summer weekends are busy in Volendam.
